Semai 2D Survey
In 2006 Fugro and Searcher acquired the Semai 2D non-exclusive
seismic survey (5,221 kms), located between offshore
western Irian Jaya and Seram Island, covering the Semai-Gorong Basin.
Interpretation of the Semai 2D non-exclusive seismic survey has revealed a number of large structures capable of holding significant hydrocarbon volumes at a variety of stratigraphic levels. The new seismic data indicates that the Semai-Gorong Basin has a similar dispositional history to the hydrocarbon-rich Bintuni-Salawati Basin.
Misool South 2D Survey
Fugro
Multi Client Services, in conjunction with project
partners, also acquired the MS99 Non Exclusive Seismic
Survey, enabling the oil companies to assess the prospectivity
of the deepwater areas located adjacent to proven
producing oil discoveries.
The
Misool High is the major regional high located between
Seram Island and Irian Jaya and also includes the
flank areas into the Seram Trough and Salawati and
Berau sub-basins. This regional high trend is the
main catchment area for any hydrocarbons migrating
either from Seram Trough, Salawati or Berau sub-basins.
The
Jurassic source rocks (Manusella Formation) are expected
to be present in the trough between Misool and Seram
Island and the MS99- data has revealed larger structural
features also located in the deep-water portion which
might provide valid traps for any oil migration towards
the Misool-Omian Ridge.
Bintuni Reprocessing Project
Fugro Multi Client Services, in conjunction with project partners, have reprocessed
lines from the TB87 seismic survey and in the coastal areas of the Semai Basin.
Please contact Ewa Ginal for further information on this region.
