Located in the northern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, Fugro and Searcher acquired the NewLOOK seismic survey (1,412 kms) and the Gorontalo (5,643 kms) 2D Seismic Surveys in 2005/2006.
The Gorontalo Basin is a large, unexplored basin with evidence that an active petroleum system is in place:
- Good probability of charge, reservoir and prolific trap configurations
- Seep data suggest an active hydrocarbon system is present
- Neighbouring "giant" hydrocarbon discoveries to the west and southeast
- Analogue reservoir age and stratigraphy to Senoro Gas Field to the southeast
