About Fugro Multi Client Services Pty Ltd

The company, originally called Seismic Australia, was established in 1996 and was acquired by the Fugro Group in July 2000. Fugro Multi Client Services (FMCS) provides oil companies with high definition, quality seismic data that can be interpreted over large basin wide areas. This involves acquiring new data or fully reprocessing data using techniques incorporating knowledge of the various basins and their prospectivity.

The data is the proprietary asset of FMCS and is available for licence by interested parties on a non-exclusive basis.

Australia

FMCS has reprocessed existing open-file seismic data and compiled these into large consistent basin-wide data sets. Much of the data being reprocessed has not previously been recycled since the original exploration phase, almost 30 years ago.

We are primarily involved in offshore oil & gas exploration with the newest most extensive 2D reprocessed seismic database in Australia (620,000 kms) which along with over 45,000 kms of recently acquired 2D seismic data gives oil companies data over all the major basins offshore Australia.

FMCS is in joint agreements with various companies to assist in the development, management and marketing of seismic data projects. For example, along with WesternGeco we have finalised one of the largest multi-client 3D surveys ever acquired in Australia, approximately 12,750 sq kms in the Northern Browse region.

New Zealand

FMCS has reprocessed over 28,000 km of 2D and 1,200 sq.km of 3D seismic data in the offshoreTaranaki Basin.

Indonesia

In Indonesia FMCS has almost 70,000 km of reprocessed 2D data and over 20,000 km of acquired 2D data over all of the major basins.

Papua New Guinea

FMCS assisted the Papua New Guinea government with the 2006 licensing round by reprocessing over 30,000 km of data and acquiring almost 13,000 km of 2D seismic data in the Gulf of Papua.

India

FMCS is planning to acquire 10,000 km of new long offset seismic, marine gravity and magnetic data to unlock the full potential of the Indian West Coast. Acquisition for Phase 1 is scheduled to commence May 2009, with Phase 2 planned for later in the year.
